Missing Our Traveling Companions

Well, this is certainly not the type of post I thought I would be writing on this trip. We were having a great time till we were leaving Seward for Homer. Ron Marlin wasn’t feeling well and went to a walk in clinic in Homer. They did tests and told him he needed to get home as soon as possible. His condition is very serious and we drove them to the airport last Monday. He is currently in the hospital in Arkansas. Rhonda is by his side.

After reviewing all of the options to get their truck and camper home, Ron and Mary Lichtenberg flew up from Omaha and spent some time with us orienting themselves to the truck and camper. They are taking the camper back to Arkansas. When you look up friend in the dictionary, you see Ron and Mary’s picture. Great friends and very giving people. New friends, Terry and Diane Hansen, helped find a camping spot to rest before getting Ron and Rhonda to Anchorage. The Harvest Host at Alaskan Race Way, Michelle, was also very gracious and let us stay extra nights given the circumstances.

So, our great adventure with Ron and Rhonda has reached its end. We hope all of you will keep Ron in your thoughts and prayers. Over the last few years, Ron and I have talked just about every other day about this trip, Solar and all things RV. I got to talk with him briefly today. I pray we get to talk again in the near future. I will be back with a more cheerful post shortly. Just not today. Hug your loved ones, make peace with those you haven’t spoken to in awhile. Life can change in an instant. God bless.

Prayers for Ron and Rhonda that the Drs can get him back to good health. We hope and pray that y’all can still
Find some enjoyment of the trip even with the sudden turn of events. Heartwarming to know there are still really good people out there that rise to the occasion.

Sending prayers to Ron & Rhonda. Take time to reflect on the good memories made on this trip. Every day is a gift that’s why is called “the present”

I have been thinking about Ron this week. I hope he is doing well.
We all have to remember to enjoy life, our friends and family.

My brother mentioned fishing next week on the lake where we spent much of our childhood.
Just changed my schedule to join him. I had to make it a priority.
Don't know if we will ever have the chance again. I hope so.
